An ice cream parlor converted from an old clinic (hospital) near the train station. The photos speak for itself. Even if you don’t eat ice cream, the parlor is worth visiting if not for the amazing décor inside. With echos of a time past, symbolism is everywhere in the atmosphere-rich interior. There are 54 flavors of ice cream with one scoop costing 90 NTD and two for $150NTD and dozens of amazing toppings! Bubble Milk tea, dawn cake, yogurts and multi-flavored desserts can all be bought here. A large variety of gifts can also be purchased such as nougat, pineapple and sun cakes. The custom made pineapple cake is one of many good well-priced souvenirs.
A less convenient, but more affordable alternative to Miyahara is Sugar & Spice store (map link) on Wenxin Road. They have plenty of snacks and treats in great packaging. Branches are across Taiwan if you don’t make it to this one.

Getting There
It’s barely a five minute walk to get to Miyahara Ice Cream Parlor from the old train station. From the front of the old train station, walk up Zhongshan Rd (中山路) for three mins until you see a new large black building on the right and you’ve arrived. Best time to visit is before midday when it gets very busy with long queues down Zhongshan Rd.
