A giant pinball machine made from wood, traditional wooden games from a bygone time, a DIY wood workshop, an exhibition hall, gardens, bar, restaurant, shop, amazing wood work pours literally bursts at the seams in this unique center in south Taichung. For those people who like to experience the unusual, this is a gem of a find and only 15 minutes from the central Train Station. The factory aims to recultivate traditional skills and creativity and to that end, they’ve created 40 unique games based on their own cartoon character Lu Ban Gong from the Hami tribe. Not to be missed.

Getting There
Mutou Wood Museum may not be the easiest to get to by public transport, so you may be better advised to take a taxi. However, by bus, walk out of the train station and turn left on Jiang”uo road (建國路). Cross to the other side of the road, and walk to the bus stop in front of the Golden Plaza Hotel. The bus stop is called “Taichung Train Station.” Take bus 33 to the Qing Gong Police Station stop (勤工派出所). From there walk back along the road to Shuyi Road and turn right. Head 550 m along Shuyi road until you see Mutou Wood Workshop on your right.
An alternative route is by train. Take a local train to Daqing train station (Daching) (大慶火車站), then walk about 20 mins to Mutou Wood Museum using the map above.
